Yea it will hold... just get a good tune with it.

Have you put any thought into what cam you will run? What headers? What torque converter? All those parts are very important to making it run really well right off the line and never let up.

I don't think you will run much boost with the pulley they give you... it wont be logn before you swap that out.

With a D1 I would go with at least a 3200 converter... and cam choice all depends on what kind of idle you want, how high you want to shift, and how loose you are willing to go with the converter.

I'd look into ARH. A 6.0 with boost likes the 1 7/8" primaries. Not a must, but you already have the procharger... so I would definitely go that route.

If it's not your daily driver put a converter that will at least flash to 3600. Converter can make or break a procharged truck. Call Circle D.

What he said. When I say loose I mean how it feels when daily driving. Around town at 1/4 throttle your RPM's will be higher with a looser converter. It takes some getting used to, but once you do the performance gains are out of this world, especially with a procharger that loves RPM.

Next you have to think about a cam. Any idea how high you want your shift points? 6500? 6000? Somewhere between, or even higher? Idle quality plays into it too. For something that itns a daily driver I would aim at 6500 or so with a healthy chop at idle and a decent split.

something like a 222/234 on a 114 or 115 +3. That would pull pretty hard all the way to 6500 RPM and feel real strong with a 3600 converter. With 0* overlap or -2* overlap it would sound real healthy at idle too...

to give you an idea it would sound somethign similar to this

This web site explains it really well. Basically, what a 3600 converter will do is allow the RPM to shoot right to 3600 when you floor it, rather than 1600 of the factory converter. needless to say you come off the line like a bat out of hell. Especially with a procharger that needs RPM to make boost and spools to some extent.

Trailblazer Stall converters

Here is a video... i really wish this showed the tach, but its a bolt on only car, and that thing scoots right to 50 in a hurry.

So next for me to ask is will you be doing this work yourself, with a friend, or paying a shop?

In a very simple term it's the RPM the vehicle will start to move when you accelerate. How loose it is will affect how high the RPM's will creep up when normal driving before allowing it to move.

When someone says 3200 or 3600 etc that's ideally the RPM will flash to when you stomp on it and go WOT and will keep the RPM's up between shifts to keep you up in the power.

Here is a video of my old truck. This is a 3400 Circle D Multi Disc and some normal driving

Here is a WOT pull. I brought the RPM's up before launching. Watch how little the RPM's drop at wot during shifts
