Default D1 boost vs pulley size ?

What boost are you guys seeing on a D1 with a 3.5 pulley? how about a 4" ?
I ask because I took my truck out today for a shakedown with the new rear and it's running stronger than it ever has but looked over at the boost gauge and seen why. Eighteen lbs !!!!!! maybe a little more. The only thing I can think of thats different is that theres no slip now after a installing a HD tensioner and aligning the ps pump last fall. I love the power but it needs to go back to 12lbs , don't want to hurt anything... Tell me what ya got.

So youve got a forged motor but only want to run the same amount of boost you would on a stock motor

I'd love to keep it there, power is addicting but afraid of lifting the head .
I'm running ARP head bolts not studs. Maybe a 3.75 pulley would be best.

Just dont get too crazy on timing and you'll be alright. Plenty of people getting away with high teens boost on stock castings. As stated in this thread blown06 is running 23#s which is pushing the edge of course but I wouldnt think twice about running 18 especially with a good set of bolts.
