I'm referring to full boost. It takes a few seconds then it starts to do it. I kinda feel like the valves may be floating.

re edited post. Alright im in need of some advice or knowledge from someone who might have had a similar prob. basically what is happening is my truck isnt pulling timing. it doesn't pull any once full boost for a few seconds, it happens around the 5-6,000 rpm range. the problem kept occurring and everything in the logs were fine. i changed spark plug wires, and tried the square coil packs instead of the round ones i had. no fix. the spark plugs are gapped to the stock gap out of the box. (ngk br7ef's) so if anyone has any insight on what my problem may be or have had some sort of related issue please give me some knowledge.

So commanded timing doesnt change, it just starts sounding sloppy and misfiring? Tighten the plug gap to 0.025"

You said earlier that you think that the valves were floating, what makes you think that? Only way I could see that is if you're springs had low seat pressure, and/or you had big heavy *** valves. Whats youre top end set up look like? Also give Atomic's suggestion a try you might just be experiencing spark blow out.

i'm going to try the spark plugs today. i did a CASE learn yesterday and different coils and nothing. But everything is stock (just a 4.8) other than arp studs and ls9 gaskets. i feel like it is doing it from others experiences i've heard of and what i've read how it happens and feels and what not.

So stock springs and how much boost? That could be your problem there if you lets say 8-10# Time to get some stiffer springs I thinks.

My BR7EF's were gapped at .025" right out of the box. What were yours gapped at?

Yea they .025 I took them to .030 and it feels a bit better. I still feel like it kinda cuts a bit though maybe I'm still stuck on it.
