Really curious to see how this works out. Mine is super hot driving around yesterday, but I may have air in the system due to the stupid coolant tank leaking. 90ish degree day and IATs sat at 120-130 most of the time just cruising.

That's not a bad price for the size. For comparison the ZL1 upgrades (~26.5x11.5x2) are $500-650 without fans. What made you want to go with those dimensions? The 24" width allows you to place it between the frame rails for extra length but ~8" of the hx will be behind the bumper with limited air flow. Also, what do you plan to do with your transmission cooler?

I have dual HX's on mine with a Verimax pump. Once nice and heatsoaked, at cruise I see 18-22 over ambient. On a pull assuming I am starting out around cruise IAT's I see a 22-24 Degree rise. Once I hit 100mph or so my iats stop climbing and just flatline where they are. This is with a single 15gph meth nozzle and 100% meth.

Currently I changed it up and now have 1x 10gph and 1x 7gph nozzle so 17gph. I have not had a chance to do a longer pull with it to test IAT's, I just drove it enough to tune fuel. However my plan is to add a bit of water back into the mix as it cools better. I added more quantity total but plan to offset it a bit with water. I used to run 70/30 and liked it better but went 100% for the octane, now I want to play around again. If I have to I can run 2x 10's.

The 2004 GMC has rather large holes in the bumper and the lower facia is completely open. So there is tons of airflow unlike some if the silverados AC condenser. my current HX is mounted in front of the tranny cooler. Once again the sierras have alot of room.

I have a little more room since lowering the bumper for the HD grille conversion. I do like the idea of a narrower hx to allow fresh air around the sides to the condenser/radiator. I will have to check if I have space to install the trans cooler behind the HX. I am interested to see how this unit works out for you as I plan to do pump and hx upgrades soon.

So after talking to the guy that is gonna build it and looking at possible mounting places the size changed some. He also mentioned how i should have the feed and return setup for better flow.

I will be going with a 30x16x2.25. Basically it will span the entire width of the grille opening and sit about 1in above the frame rails.

I am gonna draw it up and have it built. He said it was a 2 week lead time.

You may want to double check your measurements unless you are planning to modify the hood latch. IIRC there is only 11.5" from bottom of hood latch to top of frame horns.
