Default COPO Whipple 4.0

As it's well known, Whipple doesn't have the best customer support and I couldn't pry much information out of them. In fact, I had to call three or four times in order to get ahold of a sales rep. I was wondering if anyone has any information on a LS designed 4.0 whipple to make some serious horsepower. Whipple sells a base kit of the 4.0 for a LS motor (it's a sand rail kit). The problem would be finding someone to make an elbow to mount the throttle body 180 degrees since the 4.0 is a rear inlet blower. IMO, it would basically be just like the new COPO Camaro setup but Whipple said, "We can only manufacture and sell that elbow for GM at this time." Any advice would be appreciated on how I could mount this monster.

*Also found out that Whipple is only about 60 days out from having their intercooler system ready for the 03-07classic trucks.

You "should" be able to buy that setup from gm, may not be available yet. Also be aware, I read that the copo unit flows a couple hundred cfm more then a stock unit. I think the elbow would be easy to do though. id love to give my 4.8 hell with one of those

That blower will not fit out trucks very well and would require a good amount of fab work.
The 3.4 will fit better.

From what I've read, GM will release a build sheet on the COPO Camaro listing all P/Ns so that one could potentially build their own COPO Camaro. Unfortunately, I believe the supercharger will be part of the engine P/N which would require one to buy the entire engine setup.

Start here: Chevrolet Performance - Performance Parts | Crate Engines | LSX | Chevrolet Racing

You can get any p/n from any dealership.
