I've read that about that controller 10 yrs ago, there's newer units out there with a lot of control

Leash and AMS seem to be preferred lately for many

 

I bought the Eboost2 at the end of last year, and never hooked it up for ramping into boost. There are pretty good videos on youtube that the company made telling you how to set it up though.

 

yeah i have watched those two videos a couple times but they only go over the spring pressure and basic boost control , nothing on the advanced features. but after searching a little bit this morning it does have a ramping or timed feature and a boost by gear feature but havent found a tutorial on it yet but still looking.

 

 

I have the 2 step set so it makes about 10psi at the launch after a couple seconds. If I stay on it more than that it will spin at about 12-13psi. Which means the amount of time I spend staging is important. Once I launch I dont watch anything but the road, but if I feel it spinning I will feather the throttle.

I used m&h radials then hoosier slicks.

Dumb question but why do you want to make power if you are afraid of the power breaking things?

 

thats kinda why i want to limit the boost to about 8 psi off the launch so i can keep the breakage to a minimum , i guess im getting old and im tired of replacing stuff ... lol

so your 2 step you can't set it to keep the boost under control on the launch ? i dont have a 2 step but i can build as much boost as i want to now off the line so whats the point of having a 2 step?

 

the two-step only limits the engine rpm. Once it reaches the set. It starts cutting cylinders to keep the RPM at whatever you set. The boost your turbo build depends on a lot of things but mainly the engine rpm timing and air/fuel ratio. I know on mine with it set to about 30 100 rpm but turbo whenever build more than 10 pounds or so. If I said it to 3400 rpm it would build 15 or 16 before letting go. a two-step makes launching much more consistent but you would have to play with it to find out where yours works the best.

 

You use the boost controller to control stages so power is controlled that's whole reason for a electronic boost controller

Typically stage 1 is 2 step and launch boost then it ramps to stage 2

 

i was having the same problem last year, with the boost down I could leave on 10lbs with a 1.6x 60ft. Once i turned it up I had to leave on 6-8lbs or it would spin 30ft out and the best I could manage that way was a 1.8x 60ft. I have a 2 step that I am going to try to make it more consistent, if that does not fix it I will be doing wheels and tires

 

If its spinning 30ft out you may want to focus on the suspension as well as the tires
