I was making my best runs last weekend so I let my good friend make his first pass ever. After his run i find I'm going lean when I get in boost! His run was only a couple of tenths slower so it must have occured at the end of, or after his pass.
I have a 2 bar tune and MAF enabled so I was able to drive home fine, staying out of boost
Turns out the Meth controller was sucking voltage from the MAP.
The truck seems to run/sound fine-no smoke. I drove 2hrs home that evening and another 70 miles to Rick's and back without problem. We have the controller disconnected and a new one is on the way.
I've checked the oil level and it looks good, no loss or burning. This is the first I've ever heard of a controller issue, of course I have to be the first.
Lucky , huh?

I'm pushing the little 5.3 to it's maximum potential, and risk exists.
The benefit outweighs the risk today.
