Default can someone point me in the right direction?

whats up guys had a few questions for ya...ill soon be ordering a custom ground cam for a procharger, my buddy whos got one of the fastest TBSS in the midwest told me not to waste my money on the fast lsxrt intake manifold...he told me to go with a TBSS intake manifold...my question is i searched the forums and found a 3pg post about them. i saw that 03+ its a direct bolt on and that since im a 99-02 i need a different fuel rail and somethin about fabbing something for my throttle body? if anyone can help me out and give me a small list of what i need for the intake manifold swap it would be greatly appreciated!!! also can i run my throttle body or do i need to swap over to a higher mm?

I could be wrong and i'm curious now too but do you think its even worth messing with swapping the stock LQ9 intake over to your motor? HOTROD did a write up a while back on the truck 6.0L engine adding a cam and swapping intakes, granted it was a FAST intake I believe, but doing so did pretty much nothing for gains when speaking of the intake. Well, it helped a little but not enough to justify it. I'm willing to bet you could squeeze plenty of power from your stock intake. Just a thought. I was under the impression that the intakes were pretty much the same from the 4.8 to 6.0, even the LQ9 anyways.

What are you goals. That will tell you if you need to upgrade or not. Like the previous post said, you may not even see any gains once you swap out.

well goals...id still like to go procharged in the future, im getting a custom ground cam soon along with a 3200 stall, my truck really doesnt see much low end specially with the 4.88s in it, and eventully i probably will end up going with the blower. n supposedly the TBSS intake is different from the regular LQ9, its 125 bucks with fuel rail. its supposed to be a 15-20rwhp gain on a bolt on motor from what ive heard/read

The TBSS has an LS2 in it, not an LQ9. The TBSS intake is an improvement over the truck intakes which are the same from a 4.8 to 5.3 to an LQ4 or LQ9.

To the OP, the fast intakes have had issues with leaking problems around the runners lately from the factory. If you search around on here you will find several threads about it. Also, if you do a search on the 99'-02' TBSS intake swap you will find that there are several threads that walk you through the swap process step by step. And yes there is a 15-20rwhp gain to be had from the swap.

Alot guys are still running the stock intake(78mm TB) with great numbers. The TBSS/NNBS intake allow to upgrade to a 90mm TB.. Yes being a return style set up you will need to use a different fuel rail or make a new cross over rail on your current rails to use on the TBSS/NNBS intake.. There are gains to be had from the newer intake.. You will also need a DR X or similar harness so that you can plug the factory harness into you current TB plug. Also will have to fabb mounts up if you decide to use different fuel rails as they use a diff length injector vs out short ones..

assuming he is talking about the 01' in his siggy he won't need the x-link, but will have to take the throttle cable bracket and modify it to fit the new intake.
