Default Can someone explain how / why a Wastegate and BOV

needs to read vacuum. And is there away to test them before using them?
By taking a tube welding the end closed, and compressing the tube with air, then pull a vacuum on the one or the other?

Thanks.

you can check for leaks with a mighty vac, or open them up and check them. The waste gate doesn't need to routed to the intake, but you get a more stable boost pressure by doing so.
The BOV need to be on the intake side of the intake so it can open once it "sees" a pressure differential between the intake and the charge pipe before the throttle blade. That way the BOV only dumps when there is pressure on one side of the diaghram and not the other...

What is a Might Vac? I still dont understand how the wastegate knows when to dump pressure.

Thanks.

The gate know when to dump pressure, due to there being a spring that has a adjustment, that is set to open once a desired pressure or boost is pressent, it regulates so that there wont be an overboosting problem..

That's what I thought, about the wastegate, but why is it referenced off of the intake?
Thanks Chad.

so it knows when to open. if the presure is close to the same at the bov and at the intake it will stay closed. if there is a vacume at the intake and presure at the bov it will open quickly leting the presure vent.

just follow the directions that come with the parts and everything will work like it should
