The bottom line is the power needs to be able to pull this heavy pig of a truck and open car hauler with a car weighing no more than 3400lbs with ease... My 6.0L dually:

 

I figure my new boat and trailer are at least 5600lbs and my truck is at least 6200 lbs. Pulls it very well. I did take it up a very steep hill in town and my buddy behind me said he figured it didn't slow me down too much but he sure could hear my truck , my biggest concern was the transmission, I didn't have my gages in yet, but I do now. The hill is a major one and the truck was working pretty hard, but did quite well.

Now dont get me wrong right now the truck pulls just fine, but around town you know something is back there. ON the highway you easily forget, but I want to be able to pass around town while towing..

 

I pulled 53X hp and 56X TQ on my latest dyno run but did not get a print out. My best documented is 485/535. LQ9, cam, 65E, meth, 2.8" pulley and a ton of bolt-ons.

 

503/526 for me. LQ4, cam, meth, 2.9 pulley, midlength headers, and full exhaust.
