Default ? on cams

I figured I'd ask all u cam experts here about this. I've got a 03 5.3 with a112HH, E.T heads, a small cam and 3.4 pully with 5 # boost. With the maggie tune it went 350/330 hp-tq respectively. After custom tuning by Livernios Motorsports it went 386/375. Really happy with the results but was counting on breaking 400. My question is whether the LS6 or the GT2-3 cam would put me over my goal? Thanks in advance Mike

Long tube headers would put you over the top if you haven't already got them.

Thanks for the reply Terra. How much boost does that pulley give you.

Doobie already have the long tubes,Y-pipe and high flow cats. Went with the 4l80 also so thats probably eating up alot of power. I'd rather be safe than sorry on the boost side since its a stock bottom end, thats why I suggested a cam change.

5 lbs. of boost is very conservative for an LS engine. Most people here tend to think your safe up to 10 lbs. with a stock motor and a GOOD tune. I'm using a 3.3" pulley and see 8 lbs. boost in winter and approx. 7.5 lbs. in the summer time. Your 4L80 is more than likely holding your #s down just enough to keep you under the bar your shooting for. I would try a smaller pulley before swapping your cam, it certainly would be a LOT cheaper and quicker/easier to install.

Does this also require a new tune and belt?
