Talking Cam swamp.

Deciding to change my cam. Currently I have the CheaTr v3. With a LQ9 pacesetters long tube headers, TVS1900. Ported oil pump, custom tune, 4 inch custom CAI, built 65e, sc2800 yank stall, 4.10 gears.
going to pull off the stock crank pulley. Install the 10% overdrive crank pulley.

Deciding to restall the stall to 2600?
What would be the bigger cam and meanest cam I can put and would it be better to restall it to 2600??

Thanks guys.

How much boost do you want to give up? So you want to go to a larger cam and a lower stall speed? I am trying to figure out your goals, because OD pulley will ad 2-2.5 psi assuming no belt slip but if you throw a donkey dick cam in there you will loose that boost right back and loose bottom end. This is my reason for wondering why you are looking to go to a 2600 stall at the same time. They kinda go against each other when it comes to reasoning.

I want to make more hp with the most boost I can make with the stock block. Will I loose hp if I go back down to 2600 stall speed??

With a larger crank pulley you will gain boost and power. The bigger crank pulley is a good idea.

A bigger cam and a lower stall is a bad idea. You should either go with a higher stall and bigger cam or go with a lower stall and smaller cam. Failing to do this will result in your truck being slower.

A torque converter will not change the power your engine makes, just the way the transmission gets it to the wheels. You have some reading to do. All the info is on this site.

Briantooleyracing.com Call and ask him about his positive displacement blower camshafts. They still have very little overlap but, have a "cammed up" sound that I think you are after. Brian is also very knowledgeable and his prices are right.

I don't think a cam swap is what you need...

How much boost do you currently run?
