I have an 03 RCSB silverado, with the 4.8 and a magnacharger. Looking at getting the Lingenfelter gt2-3 cam or the gt7 cam. I was wondering if you would have to change the spings with the gt2-3. Also wondering if i would need a tune after replacing the cam shaft, all i have now is the tune that comes with the magnacharger.

 

go bigger. I would look for something around 220. You would need a little more top end IMO

 

What kind of cam would you recommend?

 

I would say no bigger than... 224. Thats just taking a shot in the dark since my 4.8 was a dog down low with the 221, but then again you blown so its gonna make crazy power up top and the blower is gonna make it move

 

Would i have to get a custom tune for a cam like that or would it run fine with the magnacharger tune?

 

you need a custom tune period. Im not too sure what the "magnacharger tune" does, but I personally would've taken it to the dyno regardless. You never know how much your getting out of the truck untill you watch what it does on a dyno. My truck makes 325 on a 5200RPM cut off. Moves like an SOB on rolling pulls but wont move for **** at the track. What Im getting at is it *feels* like it runs like a champ but theres a TON more in it.
