maybe this has already been answered but i cant find it maybe im looking for the wrong keywords or something but idk. my question is there any CARB legal turbo kits for the silverado 5.3 besides a sts system? i want a turbo but dont really want to pay 6 grand for one. thank you

 

Nope..Very limited, just unbolt when smog rolls around

 

i was hoping there was but how hard would it be to switch back for smog?

 

Bottom line is, you can't modify or move the stock cats. All turbo kits besides the STS rear-mount completely eliminate the stock y-pipe and cats. Some superchargers are CARB legal I believe, not totally sure though.

I'm currently researching making my own rear-mount turbo kit and getting it passed off as a CARB legal STS kit.

 

yea i subscribed to it, it would be amazing if you could find a way to get it to pass id deffinantly get one.
