I had the same problem while nelson was tuning mine.....he said it was blowing out the spark.....i switched to the TR7 and it fixed the problem

What tool do you use to cut the threads off? I've used a plumbers tubing cutter, but I'd like to find something better. Thanks!

Mike @ Vengeance racing is doing the tuning over in Cumming, Ga.

He figured the truck weighed so much, with a stall flashing over to ~4500 on the brake that it needed more timing at first. So we ended up with like 20 degress of timing during the first part of WOT. That didn't help, so we added a lot of fuel down low, this helped some put it still runs like **** at wot.

Rick - I haven't tried a lower boost WOT (it was doing the exact same thing on 6 pounds when I brake stalled @ wot on the line, but once I let off it stopped and ran clean... this is on the maf) but at 80 percent throttle there is less boost with the same afr's and it does not do it at all.

To be honest, the fuel and spark look great now theoretically it should be running like a champ. But it's not. I am still waiting for him to email me some logs so you can see how good they look (besides my stupid loose converter). The only thing bad about this is that when it starts doing it.... it sounds just like a 2 step, and it starts building up a LOT of boost.

So far the only thing I'm seeing suggested is plugs.

Should I try br7ef or tr7's? Gapped at?

The only difference I see is that the tr7 is projected... which will benefit me more?

I'm using br6ef's, work great for me. I wouldn't go with the 7's unless you're going above 15 psi or so. I run 14-15 with my 6's gapped at .026 and have no problem at all. With tr6's at .032 it would sound like a rev limiter over 10-12 psi.

Just out of curiosity, why would a non projected plug facilitate more boost than a projected plug of the same heat range?

Br7efs plugs are just fine at all boost levels in my truck..... i gap em anywhere from 25-30 i also have a hard time beliving at this boost level you are blowing spark out but then again ive always ran a Br7efs plug from 5#'s to 20#'s without a hitch....Logs will help out tremedously and we can help ya narrow it down too hopefully.... Be sure to check all your plug wires because with a log setup they build ALOT of heat and my wires seem to burn through pretty often, even with a wrapped manifold and heat shields on the plug wires. Does this happen at a certain RPM range? Does it happen as soon as the motor starts to get boost?

projected plugs turn into flame throwers, throw some 7 heat range plugs in it and gap them to 22-24 thousands. that will work all day and be plenty cold. they wont foul a plug.

It doesnt do it at a certain rpm range, it seems to do it when im not on the foot brake at wot over 7-8 pounds. If i stomp the gas while on the foot brake it does it, but if i slowly lead in it wont do it until i release the brake. Still waiting on the logs for yall.

New plugs didn't help... went with br7ef's.

I took a quick vid of 75% throttle, then going to 100% you can sort of hear it do it. I am still waiting on the logs from efi live. And pay no attention to the boost gauge, we judged 12 pounds going off of the MAP sensor not by the boost gauge.
