Default Bumped it up to 12#'s

The tuner worked on it for about 6 hours yesterday.... he changed the truck to an sd tune, and tuned using some meth as well. He was really light on the timing just to be safe, but we had some issues we couldn't work out in time. At WOT the truck coughs spits sputters pops pretty crazy, and when this happens it creates a lot of boost which makes the popping even worse. What doesn't make sense is that fuel and spark appeared to be perfectly fine, and there was never any KR the whole day of tuning. It's hard to explain this, if there is any way I can help you explain it better let me know. Just looking for some suggestions or words of advice.

Here's a plug picture from after the trip home and a few WOT sputters.

The truck actually made a few good passes with the tuner, and it felt beast. Just want to get this thing dialed in.

Thanks for the help.

You can not tell anything with out killing it after a WOT pull. Then you have to cut the threads off to see the fuel ring.

That tells you nothing more then what it was like cruising down the road.

Plug gap is .30, fuel pressure doesn't drop at all throughout the pull and AFR is around 11.8 at WOT.

I will hopefully have a log to share with you tonight, so you can see everything including afr and boost.

I wasn't saying it is the spark plugs, just asking for suggestions and posting a picture in case it would help.

Thanks

The comment about the plugs was to address you are running a protruded plug only one heat range colder. I second the suggestion to go br7ef at 12 #

I hope you mean .030 gap and not .30 ha ha ha. Mine was just doing the same thing at 11 psi but I gapped my tr6 plugs to .032 and it runs smooth and pulls like a champ.

sounds like the symptoms of blowing out the spark, how much timing also? too low timing will cause this.
