Default bov ?

So I have been running my bov in the location where it is now for say a year and half with no issues. I am running it right before the throttle body "after" the maf. Is this wrong? My buddy comes by today and is checking out the truck, and sees where it is and says that it needs to be before the maf. I dont really see where it matters, it doesnt open till under boost when I let off the gas. Am I wrong. Nick...

i dont know for sure, but i think if youre running a MAF all the air that goes through the MAf needs to go into the motor, so you should either recirculate the air from the BOV back into the intake system or move the BOV, i think...

You should just ditch the MAF. MY firend has a very similar set up to yours (5.3L T76mm 10 PSI TSP220 cam) and he is SD tuned

The purpose of the BOV is to vent off excess pressure that would cause compressor surge. So wouldn't you want it as close to the compressor as possible?

No you would want it as close as possible to the throttle body since thats whats restricting the air when you go from WOT to cruise.

Your friend is right, the blow off valve comes BEFORE the MAF. Otherwise metered air is not reaching your intake and it is going to dump fuel for a short while after you let off. Also in low load, high RPM situations the BOV opens, so you will be running very rich in that scenario as well.

Oh and on a side not. Today I put some m/t ets on the truck and went out and played a little bit. Here is my concern, the truck has been pulling consistent 11psi with like 10.9 afrs. Tonight we were out giving it hell and I look up at the gauge and she was pulling 13psi. I let out of it and tried it a few more times and consistent 13psi with like 11.6 afrs. So then I go to another road and back to 11psi, what the hell would cause this? Bad bc/wg? Nick....
