Default Bottom Line

Hello everyone. Thanks so much for all the great content on this forums. Here is my dilemma. I recently purchased a 2011 Silverado 2500 hd 4x4 6.0 extended cab long bed 4.10 rear. I had a difficult time choosing between the diesel and the gas but i chose the gas and the 4.10. In southern NJ there was no 4.10s to test drive. I was hoping that the 4.10 would make the truck have some more pep than the 3.73s. It does but I was hoping for more. I don't go to the drag strip. I tow about 10000 lb about 4 times a month short trips and plan on snow plowing some with the truck. My question is where in your collective opinions could I spend the extra $10000 that i saved not buying the diesel to make the my truck preform better? Reliability, driveablity, and ease of maintainence are traits i want to keep with the vehicle. Thanks again.

Get a tune for it. It will help all around. I like Wheatley, and Klug personally, and everyone will have an opinion of who to use.

would you think tvs 1900 or 2300? Cam suggestions? I'm not planning to much more internals but would springs and rollers help without tearing much more of the engine down? From what i have searched the lower end is pretty stout in these 6.0 liters. Headers and exhaust planned when they are made but will a CAi be needed? Thanks

It really depends on what you want and how much you'd like to spend. I tuned my 2003 GMC w/ the 6.0 and 4speed and that was huge improvement. Your engine and tranny are way better than my stuff ever could be. If they can tune the '11 as well as the can the '03 I think you'll be very very happy.

Your truck is the best engine/tranny combo in for a gas powered HD truck I've ever driven. They really got all of the bugs out of them, much better than the '07-'10.

My opinion on the whole thing is once you get past the tune you'll spend almost 10x more money to equal the impovements you gained from just a tune.

Good luck with everything, hope you enjoy the truck.

Supercharger is the best route. If you're not looking for that much power then do some bolt Ons and a tune to wake up that 6.0

X2 for Going with Klug for a tune. He'll give ya great, personable straight forward customer service.

Gl welcome sounds like a nice truck. Post up some pics sometime.

So instead of spending the extra $10k on the truck that would have given you everything you wanted, you bought a truck that your going to spend the saved money on?

Why dont you go back and get the diesel, then you will have what you need.

I ran a 1900 on a 408 and was very happy with it. It will be more streetable than the 2300 but you will be limited to 10lbs on the 6.0, which is all you want on a DD anyway.
