Unfortunately there is no turbo kits for the Vortec 454. I'm in the final stages of my Vortec 454 swap, once that is done I'm going to get the parts together to build up the engine. I've been talking to KBRacing off and on for a while about building me a single or twin turbo kit for my 454 truck and he is game. KBRacing or Trick would probably be your best bet for a custom built setup.

I got my 454 from a Pick-N-Pull in Sacramento. Rest assured I have a L29 and not an L21, the valve cover you see with the coil packs is on my LQ4 that's going in my red truck.

I have a 2000 OBS 2wd LWB Single cab with the 454 Vortec/4l80.We picked up almost 50rwhp just from a good dyno tune!!

From what I have seen and read on other forums, not many people modifying these trucks at all.

My truck has Hooker long tubes,ported 80mm tb,30# SVO Red Tops,custom dyno tune,Screamin Demon coil/module setup,Derale dual electric fans,2.5" dual Flowmasters with H pipe,underdrive pulleys,and my latest addition is a zz502 camshaft.

Before the camshaft, truck made 299/368 and after the camshaft it made 365/401.

I have seen guys with headers, exhaust, and whipple make the same power as my truck does NA.

I would like to turbo the truck but its a beater....and the fact that putting in a stroker engine with good heads would make better power and be easier on parts and ALOT cheaper.

I plan on putting in a 496 shortblock($2500)with some good oval ports.I think itll make around 425ish hp with 450ft lbs to the wheels.

Also, dont believe what Nelson says about the ecm only allowing 5600rpm,my truck made several 6500rpm blasts when it was being tuned.

^ A big word on all of that, these engines can make a lot with just heads, a cam and a good tune.
