i've been keeping my eyes on everyones signatures since most of u guys list ur setup. i think it would be helpful to list people who r running stock block setups... i know alot of people looking for a lil more performance w/o going for a full build up. or some people who want to run some boost now and build up the motor later.
1. please list ur motor (lr4, lm7, lm4, lq4, lq6, etc)
2. please list ur setup (whipple, procharger, turbo, etc) and other mods
3. how much boost ur running and how long u have been running it.
4. any performance info u have (dyno numbers, 1/4 mi, 1/8 mi, etc)
1. please list ur motor (lr4, lm7, lm4, lq4, lq6, etc)

jus thought this would be an informative thread for people jus looking for a lil extra out of their trucks w/o doing internal work. informative for people looking at the various f/i bolt-on applications.

here are some dyno numbers from a completely stock 4.8 with a cmotorsports t76 kit, kind of a big turbo for a 4.8 but it ran hard.
this was on a mustang dyno, thru a 4l80e and tcase. i found out the stock tires slip on that loaded dyno somewhere over 400ft/lbs and the stock valve springs were messing up the numbers prety bad. high boost and stock springs do not work well together.

edit. i just read thru my notes. after switching to the race fuel we ran into knock problems at low rpms and didn't have time to tune it out so we started just rolling into the throttle till about 3000rpm then flooring it.

pretty good topic, i was wondering the same thing too. The info about my stock pistons not being able to handle more than 400rwhp of boost was bothering me a little bit cause i was about there with only 5psi. Now with my new 8lb pulley, i know im over 400rwhp and now everytime i lay into it, in the back of my mind i keep thinking about the guy who said 8.1L's and boost dont mix. They were talking specifically about the 8.1L when they told me that, but a little investigation found that the 4.8 - 8.1L's all have the same type of piston.....Hypereutectic Cast Aluminum. It shouldnt make a difference if one is a 4.8 or in an 8.1L should it? Only difference would be the size of the piston right?
