Default Boosted break in period on new truck

Probably been talked about before but....

Truck has 60 miles on it... 2013 5.3 with a TVS1900, Kooks, and dyno tune. What kind of break in period should I go for? I've heard everything under the sun from 500 miles then change the oil, 3k miles then change the oil, or drive it like you stole it from day one lol.

Also, oil suggestions? 5w30?

tia

Drive it normal, your engine is already broken in.

I run heavier oil as they have removed the good additives such as zinc etc out of the 5-30 and 10-30 blends. Plus mine doesn't get driven in the cold.

Yea 10w-30 should be good for you up there in the cold country... Also a good weight for all around use... I'm running 15W-40 in the 02' and might go thicker than that...

i was always told break it in how your going to drive it !!

think about it. you go to the track and watch a professional car blow up a motor on a pass, they take it back to the pits rebuild it slap it in the car as fast as they can fire it up make sure its good to have it ready for the next round. you dont see them taking it for a 500 mile drive b4 rounds ... lol

Eric at HKE told me that soon as the rings are seated on his engines...a few minutes or a few miles on a new engine, to go ahead and beat the crap out of it. Yours is already there
