Default Boosted 5.3 to 5.7

Long story short my 05 5.3 lost compression in cylinder 7 from what I assume to be broken rings or piston. Looking to rebuild the iron 5.3 and bore it out to a 5.7. My question is which pistons have those that have done a rebuild had the best luck with when it comes to boost?

Plan on using stock crank and rods since they have the floating pins already. Motor only has 75k on it now.

Pros and Cons of pistons :

Wiseco
Mahle
Etc.

Im open to what everyone thinks is a good piston. Just didn't know if there was one better than another.

Plan to push the truck to 600-700rwhp when all said and done.

When my 5.3 lost #7, I did the big bore iron 5.7 build and used Mahle pistons, Eagle rods and kept the stock crankshaft. Did a little bowl work on the 706 heads and ended up running mid to high 10's at 120+ mph in my truck. Daily driver trim was around 4550 lbs. I ran the motor this way for 4 years and never had to pull a valve cover. It was pretty bullet proof as long as I didn't get greedy on the tune ups. It's a nice way to go. Let us know how you turn out.

Blown,

That's promising to hear. I've been looking online, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. You know of any aftermarket forged pistons that will except stock rods?

Mahle motorsports makes them. I am sure there are other companies too.

Look on electronic page 9 of the PDF http://www.us.mahle.com/media/motors...compressed.pdf

Any thing with a 3.622 stroke 6.098 length and a .945 pin.

I have a set of weisco ill sell you, they just need wrist pins. They have maybe 600 miles on them. Motor was built and the shop who did my crank did a shitty job and spun a rod bearing. Ended up rebuilding my 6.0 and have these left over.
