Default boost / meth / nitrous?

alright so ill be running the tvs 1900 shortly and i picked up a alky control meth kit. also just got a trick composite tank that i was planning on using for the intercooler but i may for meth instead. got an hsw wet kit too

the question is does anyone or has anyone ran 100% meth for knock control and cooling on boost as well as using the methanol as a fuel for a wet nitrous setup. obviously it would be a stand alone setup. would need a pump and regulator for the n2o and would need to change over to a methanol safe solenoid.

yeah, i have always wondered why more people dont run methanol as a fuel for nitrous (with bigger jets and/or higher fuel pressure) or even a water/methanol mix as a fuel. It would be easier to tune for it, and you could run more without knock IMO. So I too am interested in responses.

I don't remember if it was Parish or someone else, but there was a project on here a few years ago that had a sequential fuel system that switched over to full methanol under boost. The thing had like 16 or 24 injectors, something crazy. If anyone remembers the thread title, post up. Might have some information you're looking for.

I know some of the big hp nitrous guys shy away because its not hot enough for the n2o to break down and you wash down the cylinders. I'm only looking for a 50 shot or so and don't think I will run into these problems.

The set of injector things sound interesting.. are you able to run 16 injectors of f the stock ecm? Had a back burner project in mind of a 6-71 blower. 8 up top 8 in the manifold

Gonna take alot of meth to make up for a 50shot far as actually gettin the power out.I dont really think theres a need or benifit for you with proper tuning unless your compression ratio is relatively high.I havent done the math though...Give it a shot not like your gonna make things worse imo.The nitrous/meth plus meth kit gonna bring the intake temps down pretty damn good probably close to ambeint Maybe lil below.

im not sure i get what you mean by saying its going to take a lot of meth to make up for a 50 shot.

compression will be what the ly2 comes with stock, id imagine cylinder pressures will be high though with what im guessing will be 14lbs of boost and the shot. my thoughts were id want/need the meth for the boost only to keep things in check. when on nitrous even the relatively small shot, wouldnt running meth as the fuel make it even more safe? if it didnt make more power over using just gas as the fuel the added safety would hopefully make this motor last longer.

megasquirt is a fun little setup btw. had it on my vw

I think hes referring to the stoichiometric air/fuel of methanol being 6:1 and gasoline being 14.7:1. Gunna need over twice the amount of methanol to make up for the same amount of nitrous. If your looking at lowering IAT's, both nitrous and methanol do this. A small 50 shot would do wonders IMO.
