Default Boost/belt question on 2300 maggie

I finally have my truck where i want it went with the ARH fit great.
I put a smaller pulley in the back of my 2300 maggie got boost up to
8.8 or so with a 3.6 pulley in front now the other day i put on a 3.4 pulley my last and final one, was looking to get 10psi well i got 10.3 10.4 SO IM GOOD!!Sometimes when i get on it than let off i can here just a touch of a squeal ANYONE ELSE HAVE THAT!!!ALSO SEEMS LIKE SOMETIMES ITS AT A HIGHER BOOST THAT OTHER TIMES WITH EITHER PULLEY IS THAT KINDA NORMAL!!!My pulley aint that small in front and i have good belt wrap.NOW i do have the stock belt tensioner on the truck. The maggie has the manual one u slide and tighten but WONDERING if i should change the factory tensioner on truck? Also what belt do u guys run my gates green stripe was way to small so i bought just a cheap one from autozone but i dont see any dust at all..I DONT REALLY KNOW IF BELT IS SLIPPIN BUT have my doubts!!Is the GATOR BACK the way to go also do u wana use shortest belt possible? Thanks guys

You'd know if you had slippage by looking at a graph of the manifold pressure to rpm, and by obvious evidence like rubber dusting around the front brackets. Are you still 1:1 in the back, or did you overdrive it?

I've got a gatorback on mine with twin 100mm idlers, but that's only because I couldn't size a gates HD to fit. I might measure it by the time it needs replacing just to see if it's stretched.

About the tensioner, the one that's under the jackshaft, is it spring loaded?

I did over drive the back pulley just because my friend had a pulley for me it worked out great..The tensioner under the jack shaft is manual not spring loaded..

You should have a spring loaded tensioner, take a picture of your belt setup. You most likely are getting a bit of belt slip, If it squeals when you let off I bet the tensioner is nearing the end of its range of travel and slacking the belt a bit. The Maggie adjustable idler is not a tensioner, that is so you can fine tune the belt adjustment so that the tensioner is in the center point of travel.

Mine slips when I let off from high rpm's. I'm running a 10% overdrive crank pulley and a 2.8" blower pulley on a front drive. It doesn't bother me though, I see it as stress release for the pulley/belt system under deceleration. Better a bit of slip than a broken part. It doesn't slip under acceleration, and that is the important thing.
