Looks like they already are coated.

If you have the pipes already jet hot coated your not supposed to use any type of header wrap on them it will ruin the coating.

I guess I was under the impression you could do both.

Coatings are for cosmetics. Header wrap is insulation. They don't really provide the same function.

No your miss informed. That coating reduces temp dramatically. I have had it on my headers since 03. I am planning on using it for my turbo build as well.

For reducing temps outside of the pipes and radiant heating, wrap works better than ceramic coating, IMO.

I once read that if you soak the header wrap in water before installing it that once its installed and dried it shrinks up a little and makes for a nice tight clean install. I'm going to use header wrap on mine.

I just started working the bugs out in my truck the past couple of weeks and I have ceramic coated hot parts and it works great. I did header wrap before and it always ended up looking like crap after a few months and made my pipes rust faster. I drove around for an hour today cruising and a couple of partial throttle pulls. I noticed that the hot pipes were cooler than the compressor housing a few minuets after I parked it. The only thing about the coating make sure and get any loose coating from the inside of the manifold out with a screwdriver or some how. If it comes loose it likes to reatach to your turbine wheel. My friend found that one out the hard way.

I used the DEI wrap and their silicone spray. My pipes still look good after a year...granted they havent been driven that much. The first time you start your truck and the pipes get hot they will smoke like crazy and it will burn your eyes...but it goes away after a few minutes...

So what should I do? Since they are now coated should I just leave them like that or wrap them too?
