Default Best F/I for 4.8 4.56 gears

New to the F/I I am looking best option and price. I have read and searched and, I don't think turbo is the way to go, from what I have read in the past. I do plan on going to a 6.0 later once the 4.8 blows, so would be nice to be able switch it over. Thanks for any advice.

I rocked 4.56's with a turbo 4.8 for a few years and it wasn't bad. I think Quik and I both had a 6 speed, so that was the need for so much gear. I don't think it would be that bad with an auto though. You could get away with a bigger exhaust housing.

K so who has the best bang for the buck kit? I see Trick Performance Products has a nice priced kit. All I have as of now is shorty headers, 2.5" exhaust system, no cats, Hypertech Programmer.

to me it seems counter productive to base your choice of FI on the gears you have instead of the goals in mind.

if you are going for best bang for buck then I would pick up a used radix or a used STS kit with a 67mm

Trick does have a nice kit for a good price, but you should allow about $1k more for fueling, and tuning. Also that stg 1 kit is not intercooled, I would not run a turbo set up without a intercooler, just my opinion. But with that being said you can get a intercooler and a piping kit for cheap and do it yourself and save some money, Nick.

I know the hypertech is useless, that is why I am ready to change everything up. I am looking to spend $4-$5k. Also, I know that shorty headers are not the best but, what is wrong with the rest of the exhaust system? 2.5 dual x-pipe Magnaflow. Ready to buy long tube headers and redo rest of the exhaust if that is necessary.

I don't care either way, would go turbo or supercharger. Just looking for a complete kit. Complete kit meaning fuel management system, intercooler, and ect.. Would also like to tune it myself. I have no knowledge on tuning. I have only assisted on installing one super charger and, it was very basic.
