Default Belts

Just curious if anyone that has used goodyear gatorbacks has noticed a slight whine from the belt at any rpm. I am getting a slight whine from my gatorback at idle and part throttle, naturally I cant tell if i am getting it at wo, truck is too damn loud. At least I hope it is coming from the belt, This is why I am asking. Was thinking of throwing the gates back on just too see. I figured with the gatorback having the diagonal lines cut across the ribs maybe it might make a different noise.

I picked up a slight whine too when I switched to the Gatorback...it didn't occur to me that it might be the belt. I will have to experiment with it a little and see if that's really what it is.

I only use the gatorback. I switched from the dayco and really didn't notice a difference in the whine. Over the exhaust, it is hard to tell anyway.

Ok, I put the gates on and NO whine. So Now that I know it is just the belt i put the gatorback back on. Personally I think it sounds sweet. The whine is coming from where the belt wraps around the blower pulley that is why i was concerned, however all is good. I dont like the gates becuase I can not keep them from slipping when it shifts, however with the same size gatorback it does not slip. It was embarassing, I would pull out of a car cruise or something and when it would shift the belt would screech. It sounded like there was a cat under my hood.
