Default Belt ?

I need a longer belt (1 inch) to make it fit perfect. Part number is K061145 which is 115-1/4”. Needs to be at least 116”.
The next size jumps to 118”, any suggestions?

Are you looking for 116" effective length or outside circumference? The K061145 has an effective length of 114.65" and an outside circumference of 115.22"
I think you want to find a 115.65" effective length or 116.22" outside circumference. I shop by looking at the effective length.

But yeah, looking at the Gates website, your out of luck because the next lengths after your 114.65" are:
K061177HD 117.72" effective length
K061187HD 118.74" effective length

Might have to try the 117.72" and see if it slips. How are you putting your belt on over the pulleys and tensioner by the way? Sometimes people think they need a longer belt because they're trying the slip the final loop over the top ribbed pulley. I slip my last loop on over a smooth idler and can fit a much tighter belt this way. Give that a try with your current K061145 belt.

My builder asked for me to check around for a longer belt. It’s for a Vortech kit on a 5.3, he has changed a few things to get it to work better. The manual tensioner wasn’t cutting it so he added a auto tensioner from a 98 Camero which is working great but the belt is very tight. Also had a custom pulley with a lip made to make sure the belt doesn’t walk off.
I’ll ask him about the length and get back with you.
It’s been a 7 month project that was supposed to be 2 months
Thanks for the response.

Just talked to my builder, he’s having to walk the belt on because it’s so tight but the 117 is to long.

Looks like you'll just have to get a smaller pulley to make the current 114.65" belt work! Enjoy the added boost

Here's a thread where someone was having the same problem. Suggestions were to change the idler size or cut an 8 rib down to 6 (sounds sketchy to me).

Thanks for the advice, he actually did that this week. It’s better, but still a bitch to get the belt on.
