Default Before KBracing turbo, what on my parts list is overkill or not worth $

05 silverado 2wd rcsb viper spec t56 6 speed, carbon fiber driveshaft, eaton true trac posi 3.73 gears. Truck has 29,000 on everything. Gonna be a 93 octane truck, no E85 close enough.

Okay now for the mods. It will be a single front mount kbracing kit turbo top mount with a large front intercooler. Turbo is gonna be a monster power 70mm.

To do or not to do. Looking for 650rwhp at 15psi. Gonna run 15psi all the time, pretty much like foose04

-(stock it has 862 heads) found a set of stage 2 ported 243 ls6 bare heads for 650 shipped. Gonna run manley race flow stock size valves. Heads are not milled and not gonna mill them. my truck is 61cc and these are 64cc so not sure what my new CR would be but stock with 862 was 9.47:1 CR.

-ls9 head gaskets

-ARP rod bolts, cam bolts, balancer bolt, arp head studs, not head bolts. I'm pulling the pistons to enlarge the ring end gap so gotta take rod bolts off.

-HD HV oil pump

-Double roller timing chain

-1.7 yella terra or hardland sharp rockers

-tu1 cam or something else little more radical than just a z06 cam. I wanna hear some type of loppy idle even tho turbos don't like that, that much. Matching dual springs, titanium retainers, chrome moly pushrods.

-fast 102lsxr truck intake manifold with a 90mm throttle body, fast fuel rails, and injectors to whatever I need probaly #65 or more.

-Should I just do a canton oil pan or just leave the stock one on it.?

"carbon fiber driveshaft"
I would say that is overkill... They really make those?

Stock rockers are fine
Stock oil pump is fine
stock oil pan is fine
Stock intake or tbss 90mm intake will suffice. Don't waste your money on the lsxrt
I assume you plan on running meth?
Also, stock ring gap will suffice. I wouldn't waste my time to pull the bottom end apart just to gap the rings. I would throw some forged pistons/rods in it if I was going that far

Also, lowering your compression is going to make out-of-boost driving very sluggish. That 4.8 already lacks torque

i think the intake is okay but u can get away with running a stock truck 90mm intake......some guys around here runing the vic jr and working vey nice....the drive shaft might be an over kill dont thik u need a 900-1200 drive shaft....

leave the bottom end of that thing alone (rod bolts included) put good head gaskets and bolts (I wouldnt even say studs are needed for what you want, just ARP bolts) and go to town.

-stock oil pan, those Canton pans are nice but geez theyre high dollar
-a good single roller timing set will be plenty
-stock oil pump is fine
-stock rockers are fine
-leave the heads alone unless you just want the ports cleaned up, leave CR as is
-stock drivestafts are plenty strong (steel shafts) for what youre doing
-your goal is easily attainable with stock intake and throttle body too

I'd cross a bunch of stuff off that list and put that $$ toward a 80E swap and ditch the T56 IMO....

Should I totally ditch the ls6 243 heads too? Should I keep my stock heads and just have them ported or just totally leave them alone? Just looking for a little more ponies. The 317 heads would lower the compression too much. How much would the 243 heads lower my stock CR? I do need a driveshaft they snap too easy, foose04 snapped his steel shaft after the turbo. carbon fiber is 875 from acpt or 600 chromoloy from driveshaft shop.
