I wonder if the spring could be adjusted or swapped out so it could work for us

It comes in a T4 mount, the only issue is the down pipe would be pretty far off now on a log manifold

 

Probably serves the same purpose as a quick spool valve but looks to be built very differently...

 

It's the same thing as a quick spool setup, the difference being that cummins use a divided manifold, so there must be an open area to have both sides diverted to one volute on the turbine. That's why these are so thick. If not you would be trying to block off half the cylinders, not half the housing.

 

That makes sense.
