Arrow Ball Bearing Turbos

Question #812...

I've been reading about ball bearing turbos, and their benefits of faster spool times and reduced friction.
I put alot of miles on my truck, so reliability is important to me- this truck will see 300,000 miles! That being said, would it make since to pony up the cash now for a slightly better/longer lasting turbo? or are ball bearing benefits unmeasureable?

Power wise, I'd like to one day (forged engine/4l80e) see 600 flywheel which would stretch the T-60 to max performance. The GT67 is a popular upgrade it seems, but I know the power band moves up with it, and I'd prefer to have a minimal amount of turbo lag off the line. Would a GT-67 w/ ball bearing be the solution for me?

I owe you guys alot of beers...

Ross

In one word YES. The guys on here with the GT-67 and 6L absolutely love it, Im not sure if they make the gt-67 with ball bearings, its my understanding that it is special made for STS by Garret. With that being said, I think you would be just fine the normal gt-67, if the bushings wear out it is only about 300 bucks to get them replaced.

A little lag is good for the street, otherwise the tires just go up in smoke.
