Frame flex on pickups is pretty bad. More than you really think about. This is why fuel tanks are held in with straps typically, to cradle the tank. With your tank mounts being rigid, and made out of aluminum, I would expect them to tear off the tank over a longer time period if driven on the street.

Here's a pic of extreme frame flex in an off-road situation(stolen from Google images). Obviously you will not be doing anything like this in your truck, but if you daily drive it, you are gonna have some flex in the frame.

Yeah. I understand what your saying. We are getting a strap across the bottom also. Being that there is thick rubber in between tank and frame i would think would help also.

That's what I was hinting at, thanks for breaking the bad news, AK.

I was thinking something more like an inch thick and soft like silicone. On both sides of the flange and under the frame, three per mount. My 2500 frame flexes enough that I can't close the tail gate if one wheel is on a short curb.

Just trying to give friendly advice. Since he's still in the design/build stage, it can be corrected.
