Default anyone install their wastegate like this?

I inatalled my gate the other day and thought I would share some pics. After reading about installing them I decided to make the air enter straight from the bottom and exit straight out and into the exhaust. I won't be able to see if it keeps my boost from creeping until next spring. It ended up coming out just how I wanted it to.

i'm interested in the outcome,I have yet to mount mine and I was thinking about putting it in the log below the turbo but this would be easier to package.

That's basically where the trick one comes out at. But I would have done a merge into the down pipe not a 90 like that. That's a lot of high pressure air coming out of that wastegate and may act as a wall for the turbo's exhaust. Creating more back pressure for the turbo itself. Where as if its merged it will tend to flow the correct way and not hender exhaust flow. That's how mine is. Just something to think about.

I was debating on the 90 like that, but it think it will help against creep by creating a little back pressure. Maybe I'm wrong. I wanted it to go in the exhaust, and when I take it to the track I can just cap off the outlet where it goes into the exhaust and point it straight down. As long as it isn't too loud.

That's is the absolute best way to mount a gate. You want the straightest shot of air going to it. It should work great.

To say it helps or hurts boost creep. ?? You would need to compare to a different set up same truck.
I like the way it looks very clean nice job. I recommend you install an exhaust hanger on the exhaust pipe in that front area. Stops loading the downpipe with the weight of the exhaust system.

We have great success out of the gate being on the crossover for years.

Atleast it has air going straight into the gate like the instructions on most wastegates show instead a 90
