Default Anyone have proof of better results with upgraded Radix heat exchanger?

I am thinking about upgrading the heat exchanger for the Radix intercooler - but I want to be sure that I am not wasting money on something that won't show any measurable result. I have the original Setrab cooler that came with the kit when I bought it back in 2002. I know there is a better unit that comes with the kit now, and I know that mjhoward put a kit/writeup together using a small radiator.

Will I get any measurable results from making modifications to the original Radix intercooler system? I want proof, numbers, etc etc, not comments like "it should because it slows down coolant flow" or "it should because it lets the coolant sit in the heat exchanger longer" etc etc - I know the theory behind it already...I'm looking for tangible proof, reduced IAT #'s, higher HP/TQ #'s, more timing, etc etc...

I was able to put approx 5* more timing and temps droped approx 20* at the end of the 1/4 or dyno pull. If I best remember correctly 5* of timing was worth around 25hp. I don't have any track times to compare since I ran it just once.

hmmm, well when I had two of the upraded radix kit H/E'ers hooked up I saw 3-5 deg cooler IAT temps on avg at the track in similar weather conditions.

Before the hx I saw temps as high as 210* with meth after 3 consecutive pulls on the road while tuning. After the upgrade I never saw over 170* and that was at the track. The ambient temp was probably 10* cooler the day at the track.

wow..those are some hi numbers...mine doesnt see over 140* since i changed out the front grille to open up more air to the cooler...before that it would go over 150 and start pulling timing....

Hay, has anyone seen the April GM High-Tech Performance mag. where they put a radix on a Cad. CTSV ? That hx looks to be twice as big as the ones for our trucks. I was going to call Magnacharger to see if it is available , and if it might fit a 06 silverado. BTW I have a 06 SCSB 4.8 5 spd. on order, should be in by the first of May. I allready have the Magnacharger sitting in a couple of boxes in the garage.

I picked up my 05 RCSB 4.8 5spd with 180 miles on it and by the time it had 300 miles I had the Radix on the way.
