I have 4.10s with a 33" tire. 4L60e, 5.3 Procharged. I HATE it. I cant tell anyone enough how much I hate it. I towed ~5500ish of car/trailer/ppl and gear to LSFest West and I hated it. As soon as she locked in 4th, she would unlock We spent almost that whole drive in 3rd, for like 7mpg at 65mph. Pathetic.
When I go with my 4L80e, I am doing 4.56 and there isnt a damn thing this forum or anyone can tell me. The gears in the 80e are a little deeper and a little closer together with less OD, but I dont care. 4.56
Gear your truck, you will not regret it. 4.10s with 33s is 14-15mpg around town. I can eek ~17 out of it on a good wind free highway day.

Have to agree. I know my screw is supposed to be more mid to top end but hell it's got way more off idle than I can use even stock unless I'm in 4wd. I am 6spd though.

I think this topic has derailed. Superchargers and turbos are two different things and even roots vs. centrifugal. Also as I see all the time people just say "well my 5.3 does X" 5.3l what engine? What trans? What boost/power? What tire height and rear gear? What is the use of the truck?
Converters are not as simple as picking the number and your set. There is much more that goes into a good/perfect setup. Not uncommon for racers to have a few they run.
I have different tunes depending on what I'm going and the weather. But at any time also have manual and tow, that are also tuned. Then as I set it up I know if I tap and release my foot the truck will stop holding the rpm and up shift. One of my aggressive street tunes SUCKS on the highway only way to get around that is to speed a lot or manual shift.
ZO6Ted what unit are you running and boost,BOV, controler? Hard to believe there is no steam Unless it's what I'm thinking.

Theres nothing wrong with my truck guys. Does no one know how a Procharger works? Homegirl doesnt move air until ~2700rpm. Care to guess how long a loaded down Tahoe with stock stall takes to get to 2700rpm? Care to do the math on 33s/4.10 vs the OE 28s/3.73? Im already at a disadvantage from the OE gearing and stock tire, and its only getting worse with the 4L80.
Like, its not rocket science. Gears=better than a stall. Better on the transmission too.
To the OP, gear your truck. Or dont. but youre short changing yourself if you dont gear it
