Sweetlsxs10 has done extensive engine dyno testing on the lsxrt and told me the 92 tb only gave up 5 hp versus the 102 on a 650 hp engine

I don't know about the 5 HP claim. I guess it may depend on the specific FI. I gained 1.5 + lbs of boost going from stock 87 to 102 on my 09 Maggie setup. I have to believe that was worth more than 5 HP.

the 90mm flows 1170 cfm and the 105 flows 1580cfm IIRC.

I was talking with John @ TR today and his opinion is to stick with a 92mm as well.
As several other builders and tuners have told me...he said the 102's are a bitch to tune.
He said that with a 346, as I have, that the 92 would definitely be his preferred choice.
He feels that you need a 408 or larger to go w/ the 102.

TB, think youre right, i talked to Pete Encaudo here a good while back when i went with the FAST car style intake, numbers seem very familar.

so why is there tuning issues with the 102 tb? mine seems to run and idle just fine? then again is this cause of dbc vs dbw?

Its not such an issue with DBC trucks since the IAC valve does all of the work at idle, but with DBW trucks the small change in throttle angle results in a much faster increase in area (and therefor airflow) than a smaller TB, so it has a tendency to surge.
