Another Radix question....
#31
Don't get me wrong...mid 12's is fast and probably plenty (for a month or two--lol)...it felt a lot faster this past winter then when I went 13.10, but I REALLY HATE the dramatic decrease in performance after driving it. Any tips on the tune? Or cam recommendation---right now I have the GT2/3,...
If you hit great weather (colder the better)...
FWIW, I saw .6 time difference between 85* and 40* ambient temps. A small pulley does not like to start with high ambient temps. IAT's make a huge difference. All of my 11 sec passes started with IAT's lower than 90*...most in the low 80's. Heat soak was an issue for my times.

Dewey said it, parts are gonna fly at some time. Most guys aren't running high 11's, so that says it ain't easy. Nice weather, meth & homework will be a helpful, fo sho. Weight reduction too. Good Luck.

I completely agree, but I do love speed ;-) Looking at my tune, I can see why I was getting such dramatic change----My tune is pulling 5-9 degrees of timing unless I let it cool waaayyyyy down. I can change that---lol. I'm in the detroit area.
Mid 12's in a vehicle, let alone a truck is quick. Cooler weather is always better for ETs. Ya, heat soak is something ya deal w/, esp FI. I keep seeing Radix kicked for this. That's 1 reason guys are diggin the TVS. Where do u live or run at? The weather is what it is.
You're missing my point here. I do think the M112 is a great blower---obviously not as efficient as the TVS, but great nonetheless. WHere I was going with it, was I'm doing another motor and I wanted to throw some Dart 225's on there with a better cam. The feedback I see on this topic from old threads is that I will see minimal results. I "believe" the reasoning is because the blower becomes a restriction at some point so any improvements you do to the rest of the system (heads, cam, exhaust, more cubes, etc) are lost are the improvements are minimal....
I'm tired of seeing this. The 112 is a nice unit. Now that there's a new sheriff in town, it's getting kicked. Dig up some coin for a TVS.

I agree about 21* appears to be the sweet spot for timing. Thinking it would be different with an LQ9. I've never played with timing on the dyno just played at the track.
Another thing to look for in the truck tunes at track time is the Knock Learn factor. I still keep a different High and Low octane tables and have had KL kick my timing down on track runs.

So anyone else running 21 with an LQ9?

What's the difference between the high and low octane tables. Is that basically where if you get a predetermined amount of knock it switches to the low octane table. Basically simulating if you got a bad tank of fuel on a stock vehicle??? Is that correct?

Yes the Hi/Lo Octane timing tables are for timing adjustments based upon how much knock you get while cruising around. It uses knock learn for that. A bias between the 2 tables. A knock learn value of 1 will use 100% Hi table for timing a KL value of 0 will use 100% of low octane table. A bias if anywhere in between.
While driving any instance of KR will lower the KL value. Any LONG cruises with no instance of Knock will raise the KL value.

Awesome---thanks for the info (detail). Nice truck---I can't imagine how many "unsuspecting" people have had it handed to them...lol!

I am spraying out of one 15ml nozzle that came with the kit. Controller is set at 5.

What kind of fuel system? I have an 04 with the dreaded returnless system (with a Walbro intank pump). I just installed a magnavolt so I want to start adding some timing now and see if I still have pressure drop. Before it was dropping down to 50 (from 62) at the top of 2nd gear. Hopefully, it is fixed for now.
I'm hoping the meth will offset the handicapped fuel system......
