Another Radix question....

My timing is at 17 right now. Am I going to see a second improvement from that? Also, I thought if I get any KR, that it pulled the timing back pretty aggressive??? I know you can set the sensitivity of it (KR), was yours set at stock levels or did you make it less sensitive. Do I have to have Meth injection? Also, wondering if a more aggressive cam or better heads will help----it seems like it doesn't from searches I've done in the past. Something to do with blower creating how much airflow the engine can have and that it is getting a little small for the 6l motor....

Any possiblity of seeing one of your tunes or some of the tables? Thanks again.

If you hit great weather (colder the better), your set-up is dialed in and you not afraid to push through a little KR (keep timing to 21*)and run a small pulley, it is attainable. The Radix combos seem to respond very nice to a little spray as well. If I kept my old motor, I was planning on spraying it till it blew.

FWIW, I saw .6 time difference between 85* and 40* ambient temps. A small pulley does not like to start with high ambient temps. IAT's make a huge difference. All of my 11 sec passes started with IAT's lower than 90*...most in the low 80's. Heat soak was an issue for my times.

Another good point. The trans has had some work done to it, but it is on borrowed time. The 1/2 shift isn't 100% and I baby it most of the time. I know the previous owner broke the trans many times---even broke the output. If I build this truck too much faster, everything is going to have to be beefed up! LOL! I drive it 365 days a year too---even tow my race car with it---lol.

If this could run 12.50-12.70 in the heat right off of the street, I would be tickled. If I have to cool it down for a week, give it a back rub and talk dirty to it, it ain't gonna cut it.

I hit an 11.9@115 in mid 70's weather.. It took a lot of tweaking to get there. I think there is still a little more in it.. Maybe 11.8's, but not much more. My truck is an ecsb and weight probably close to 5200 pounds with me in it.

I have a LQ4, 4L80, PI 2600 converter, 14 bolt VHO rear end, and Radix w/ 2.9 pulley.

I think there are only a few of us in the 11's all boost with an ecsb's. I will be ready to spray next winter.

Yeah, I've heard about him. My thing is the cost----billet output shafts aren't exactly cheap...lol. Guess you have to pay to play

12.50's would be fun and I already have everything.....Great feedback guys----thanks! Appreciate any tips, etc to get this beast down there.

My 03 SSS ran a 12.3 @ 109. That was full weight, all bolt ons, small cam, and a 2.75" pulley. Outside temps were low 80s I believe. With weight reduction and meth /w tuning, I think it would have been in the 11s. I did have a larger reservoir that I loaded w/ ice and was running some lighter tires.

Nice gains. Does the meth make that much difference? Cooling the IAT's or???
