Default Aeromotive 340 wiring.

Are you guys using the factory wiring on the 340 in tank pump, or using a relay and bigger wire? If using the relay, are you tying into the harness right above the connector going into the tank or taking the big wire all the way to the pump? Also, anyone using this pump returnless? TIA.

I ran a fresh relay with 12ga wire near the tank triggered by the PCM like stock. Stock uses 16ga wire for the pump which is just fine for up to a walbro 255, but the 340 has an extra 5A draw because it pushes so much fuel. Quick check to the table said 16ga wouldnt cut it long term

Lonnie's performance said this pump is no good with a return less setup. He said the pump will out flow the regulator causing high idle pressure. Too high.

Ahhh shoot. Was trying to simplify things a bunch. Guess it's back to regulator and return line....dammit.

It would require upgraded wiring as well, I have the racetronix wire setup and was considering trying one but after talking with Lonnie.. No go.

Used a custom "hot-wire" kit for the 340 on my truck. Powered off the back of the alternator to a relay, relay to pump, 12ga wire, controlled by pcm just like stock. (return system)

just run a 10ga or so wire from the battery to a relay and use the stock power wire for the pump to switch the relay. very simple!
