Default 8.1L fuel pump, whippled, & cammed

So the suburban will not "fire" i ask over in the other section and they all seem to think its the fuel pump. So if i have to replace that what pump should i get? The truck currently just has intake and exhaust, But i have whippled at the house and am waiting spings retainers and a cam. Ill be running the 60 or 65 lb injectiors that i havent ordered yet.

Walbro 255 should be fine. Fuel presser wouldn't drop till I was up around 8 psi. Fuel would drop to 50 psi at 10 psi.

yea depends on how much boost your runnin. But like tierod said fuel pressure will drop on higher mounts of boost on a single walbro 255. But you can either run twin intank fuel pumps or a boosta pump to take care of that problem. Good luck to ya

the kit came witha boost a pump. You think the walbro and a the boost a pump will do it. Those walbros are nice, i have 3 of them in the supra and havent had anyproblems yet.

Yea I just try running one walbro with the boosta pump and if you have any problems later down the road with major fuel pressure drop with that combo then you can always step it up with a modified bucket and twin pumps with a hob switch and relay to power on the second pump when a desired psi is reached.

That should be plenty.

I heard big hp Supra been using 3 pumps. I think 2 will be fine for my TT 6.2l car I got in the works! LOL

Currently its on no boost, we exploded a tci converter and broke a billit input shaft in the TH400 . While i was waiting on a converter i upgraded cams. the goal is 30-32 psi on pump gas and alcohol. Then on race gas we should be in the 40 psi + range. Its flowing threw two -8 lines which feed the front and back of the fuel rail ( inline 6 )..... and im running 1600 cc injectors. It also has a nitrous kit. we might plum that kit to spay nos and alcohol later on.. i have a 5 gallon tank in the back...

On the supra it seem each pump is good for 500-550 whp on those cars, but thats a 38-4000 lbs car vs a 7800-8000 lb suv...

As for the burban id rather have to big of a pump than having to upgrade again later. Dropping a 40 gallon tank seem like its going to be a major pain in the ***.

On a side note, with the new pump what do i need to order make the gauge work again. Its stuck past empty. When you turn the key on it jumps to a half tank, then back to empty. The dealer said run chevron gas and it will sometimes fix it... I had no luck with that. Im assuming the float is bad, or something like that.

Run 1 bosch pump in the tank and be done.. The twin intank set up is too much money IMO.. Just have to mod the bucket a bit...

Sounds like the sending unit is bad. But in order to get a new sending unit you have to purchase the whole bucket, last time i checked.
