6 rib lsa balancer pulley belt question

Default 6 rib lsa balancer pulley belt question

I had a custom top pulley made for my lsa swap I am doing with the lssimple setup and since wasn't going 8 rib figured why not have them do a 6 rib upset to match my factory balancer. Question is guys running the 8 rib upper which end does it ride on? Closest to blower or to radiator? Also those running a 2.50 pulley factory balancer what belt length and is one brand better then another for this setup? Thanks

I'd be willing to guess that it's closest to the motor, but the only way to know for sure would be to get a laser to line up the pulleys, and see where you are at.

Greame is correct. When you go 8 rib you add 2 ribs to the outside of a 6 rib set up. The 6 rib belt will sit on the inside 6 ribs.

No the belt on a 6 rib truck setup runs on the middle 6 ribs on a 8 rib lsa blower pulley.

That's true. I didn't read the question that carefully. The LSA blower pulley alignment is ever so slightly inset from out stock accessories. If you go 8rib in everything else the blower 8 rib pulley would be in 1 rib from everything else.

I have the LSA blower on my 6.0, running the stock truck crank balancer. Would the stock (larger diameter) LSA/ZL1 crank balancer work with the correct belt spacing for the rest of the pullies, including the A.C. compressor belt?
