OP,

You've received some great advice from the community. You can see there are quite a few routes you could take here.

We just wanted to add some info about pistons with 4" stroker assemblies. The pistons do move another .378" down the cylinder at BDC. The important thing is aftermarket piston skirt profiles should be designed for this. The skirt must be at full diameter without taper at BDC and remain at full diameter at least .080" above this point. We call it the break-point. This way the piston is guided off BDC without digging into the bottom of the bore.

Wiseco, Diamond, and our own Pro LS pistons are designed with this in mind. Correctly designed 4" strokers have been sold for nearly 20 years now with a solid track record. Easily 10's of thousands. We have a twin-turbo 408 iron block article coming out soon. For the time being, check out this article covering how our Pro LS pistons are designed. It dives into the design, features, benefits, and more of our Pro LS pistons.

I run a callies crank and diamond pistons. I have no issues. No oil consumption issues. Im completlely happy going stroker despite everyones comments on what a poor decision it was.
