Default 5.3 tvs1900

The time has finally come for me to purchase my Magnacharger. I am looking into just installing an 8 rib set up from the start and swapping to smaller pulleys to increase boost to get all I can. I have read the sticky and searched off of Google but I'm struggling to find for sure answers. I was wondering if anyone has pulley size suggestions and belt lengths for the 8 rib. Any suggestions on "upgrades" to the blower would be helpful. Thanks for the input.

It would help if you told us your setup. Are you going to run a overdriven crank pulley also?

I should add the list of mods so far in this build. Hopefully this helps with suggestions.

2012 Silverado 5.3L 4x4, 265/75/17 Cooper Discoverer AT/3, K&N CAI, SS Dynatech LT headers and catted-Y, SS Corsa cat back, Comp Cams 210/224 (corresponding parts - pushrods, valve springs, etc), DOD/AFM Delete, Ported & Polished Heads, HP tuners (Dyno Tuned by Complete Street Performance).

I will run overdriven if necessary to reach the boost levels my truck can withstand. Not real positive about how much is to much for my set up. I want to see 11s but 12s is more the realization I believe. There's never enough speed but I don't want my rig to become unreliable to the point where I can't DD it. I drive a lot and need a lot of "entertainment" while doing so.

Youre headed in the right direction for sure. That cam will maintain great manners. If you are going with an 8 rib belt system you may as well go with an OD crank balancer as well. I would guess that with an OD crank you wont really want to go much beyond a 3.3-3.4 pulley before you add meth or some other type of fuel like e85. I would try to keep it to 10 lbs or so with your compression before you upgrade fuel. Others (myself included) have run more successfully, and it is very possible but you are definitely starting to creep up on a limit of pump gasoline at that point. A great way to help the blower run more efficiently is by making a 4" intake to make it as easy as possible for it to get the air it needs. I would also think about a 3.5" cat back exhaust if you are building from scratch. That alone is an easy recipe for low 12's. 11's are very possible from there... its simply a better fuel, smaller pulley, and re-tune away.

Oh also... whats the cab config? That will obviously play a role in how fast it is with given mods.

Do yhe supporting mods first then up the boost. Heat is your enemy with overdriven roots blowers.

It's an ext. cab short bed. The xhaust I have now is 3.25 stainless and I can make a 4" tube if my k&n tube doesn't cut it. I run 93 octane as of now. Innovators west makes an 8rib kit which replaces all pulleys I looked at. I can order the one with od crank pulley. I guess then the guessing game is belt size and blower pullpulley size. Meth will be added in the final phase after maggie and 8 rib setup.
