Drove home today in a rain storm roughly 1" per hr. rainfall...no issues. While I wait on the converter, guess I"m having 4.10's installed Friday. Should pick it up out of the hole. So the old "higher gears makes the turbo load more and build boost faster" will be put to rest, at least for me. I'll let everyone know either way...even if it's a mistake. It just sucks so bad out of the hole...half throttle from every stoplight.

In boost = hauls ***
No boost = sucks ***

For what it's worth, maybe not much...Gtech 0-60 time 2 runs today. Was slightly unlevel. 1st run 5.22, 2nd run back to back going other way 5.45, average 5.34, left on 2-2.5 lbs boost at 2500 brake stall.

Thanks, I'll get one once the truck has gears, new converter, and more boost. Probably next week it should be done, then it's match race time with the Vette. BTW my wife asked to drive it the other day and she couldn't stop gettin on it! hehehe. That's out of character for her.

My combo is very similar. That sounds like tuning issues, may be not. Do they have softwear for the 07's yet? I lowered my compression (317 heads)and I could never say it sucked at half throttle. But I did have issues launching at the track with the 6 speed. I would either bog or spin the tires witch both scenario's made me slow out the hole. I even used a 2 step, same problem. That is why I am going with the 4l80e. However I was running more boost and a 6 speed. I swaped the 3.73's for the 4.10's (I think I went sd tuning here as well) it was more fun on the street but I think the long gear would be faster, you have to let the turbo do the work (torque for heavy trucks right?) I swaped to 3.42's now. (truck is under construction right now, I don't know how it feels with the 3.42's yet) I'd look at tuning and 10psi boost. Next time you stab it out the hole try loading the turbo against the brake alittle, it sould fly. Just my thoughts. Good luck. Oh from a roll I have two very angry friends with z06 that cant come close. Your combo has potential.

Thanks Turbo8, I appreciate your comments. They had to do a maf tune because apparently the HPT '07 flex fuel softwear isn't out yet. Too late on the gear swap, it will be done in about an hour or so. Gotta break them in afterwards too. I am going with a 6 bar spring Billy said, converter, dyno and retune. It will leave decent right now on boost but I want it leave better on the street as well.
Sure wish I could run your boost...someday.

Speed Density is not supported yet on his truck, so we had to do a maf tune.
New stall is already on the way.
The tune is spot on. It could be more aggressive, but we dont put them on the edge at all.

I think you will like the 4.10's, I did. It felt more responsive. I don't know if that is because of the 4.10 or SD or both.
