I was wondering if 1 7/8" headers with a 1900tvs 5.3L is over kill? Just so you know, the 1 7/8" headers are free.

Yes. They are. now send your headers to me. haha.

IMO they aren't too big. they are a large tube, and some will say you will lose your bottom end power. you may lose a little power WAY down low... where you won't notice it. You will gain up top where you will notice it.

 

i remeber reading test's done on bolt on ls1's with 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 headers and the 1 7/8 did better all around.

stock 5.3 id say you probably wouldnt notice a difference but with that tvs , the larger primary header will make more without a doubt. even if they made less , they are free in your case . i wouldnt think twice and ****** them suckas up.

 

I would say no problem going with 1 7/8 because your boosted. If you were not then yeah it wouldnt really do you any good you would be better off with 1 3/4. But what the hell there free try them on if you dont like them sell them lol.

 

like they said, with the fi i think you will be fine, but if not send them to me and ill use them for a NA 6.0 build

I'd say run them all day and don't look back.

They are a bit big for an N/A 5.3L, but since you're boosted I agree you'll get the gains from it.

 

Who makes the 1 7/8? Kooks? Or does pace setter have them too?
