I used to run a 4" single over the axle all the way back when the truck was at stock ride height. When I did the 6" drop flip in the rear I had to cut it at the muffler and do a turn down. I was using tubing that was pre-bent for a diesel truck.
I might could have massaged some stuff to get it to work but it was ****** tight if I remember right. Didn't feel like dicking with it.

Yes, you'll just need to heat up the pipe and pinch it where it goes over the trans crossmember, it's a little tight there. I have a custom 4" mandrel exhaust with a 36" long Magnaflow muffler and 4" tailpipe. There's tons of room except over the trans crossmember.
