4.8l turbo w/ nitrous
#1
Hey guys ive been searching and reading some forums about doing nitrous on top of boost. I'm just finishing up my turbo kit but before I decided to do turbo I had already ordered a harris speedworks wet kit with msd window switch. Im planing on starting out at 10#s boost then work my way up if needed. So my question is how much nitrous is safe with wat amount of boost? My other mods are ported heads milled .035 and a 221/228 .534 lift on 117.5 lsa cam. 4l80e with a 9.5" P.I. 4000 stall. 4.10 eaton posi rear. this truck is only driven about once every 2 weeks for an hour or so just to cruise town. I do take it to the local drag strip ocasionally too. Any input would be nice. I need to know if its neccessary to do wet or dry nos and about how much boost would be safe for it. If its any help I also have a barrel of 113 octane race fuel that I will be using for track.

what will your compression ratio be? That stall is big for a turbo get up. Those 410s are a little steep too. I think you need to work out the boost side of things first, then add the jug later for a little extra.

The 4.10's should be okay, considering the 80E's "tall" first gear. First gear will be roughly the equivalent of having a 60E with "3.32's."
The converter... you will probably start to blow through it once you start pushing some big power. Just deal with that if/when the times comes.
Having higher compression will make your truck feel better out of boost. Plenty of people boost 10:1 and higher engines, just don't get crazy with it.
