Those valve covers are cheaping china. Think you can get them off of ebay for $100. I used 6mmx1mm threaded rod to make longer studs.
You can buy the 1" 6mmx1mm spikes off of ebay too. The only thing that was a little tricky was getting those to seal up. I used grommeted washers. I don't believe you will have problems leaking oil, but I went the extra step just in case.
Below are links to all you'd need.
Covers:
LS1 LS2 LS6 LS7 L92 Fabricated Valve Covers Sheet Metal Aluminum | eBay
6mmx1mm spikes - I bought brass ones, which aren't on ebay anymore, but the link below is basically the same thing
4pc 24K Gold Billet Aluminum Spiked Bolt for Engine Bay Dress Up Kit M6x1 H | eBay
1M - 6mm x 1mm threaded rod

Sleeve material - you'll have to make a sleeve to go between the head and the valve cover to space the cover off the head so you don't push out the gasket. I believe the gap needs to be "0.100. The china covers had different bosses in either cover, so the length changed between the two, but i think they were like 3".

1/2" Aluminum NPT bung to weld onto the covers if you want to run a catch can.
