I'd like to know where I can find a H/C/I 6.0 and 80e and full bolt-ons for $7,500!!

6.0 shortblock - $1000
Ported Heads - $1500-2000
Cam/springs - $600
Fast 102mm Intake - $1000

4l80e w/ conversion - $2000

It could be done for way cheaper too. Those are high estimates.

4l80 w/conversion-$2000? Headers? And all the odds and ends that it takes to make it work.. Pretty sure 4.8 stuff dosent bolt up to a 6.0. And is the OP doing all the work himself or having someone else do it?

I had less than $1000 in my swap actually. Many guys have done it cheap. Picked up my 4l80e for $500. That's reason why the 4l80e is pretty popular, you can spend 3 grand on a beefed up 4l60e or just get a trans that was actually designed to take the abuse for $1000

I always assume doing the work yourself, just because thats the most fun for me and it saves $$$$. But, if you are paying someone to do that part, you get significantly less for your money.

Forgot to add:
Headers/exhaust - $900.

With your budget you can do either really.
I'd say turbo your 4.8, and get a 80e. With the fuel system upgrades and all the misc ends you'll probably end up on the savings end of your budget.

I'm half-*** in the same situation. Have a 4.8 in the truck, and a LQ4 in the shop. Was originally planning to build H/C 6.0, but leaning toward the turbo now.

Either way you go, you're going to need fuel system upgrades, transmission upgrades, and rear end upgrades. So that wouldn't even factor into the equation.
As far as all the bolt on stuff, almost everything if not everything from the 4.8 will work just fine on the 6.0

Turbo on the 4.8 mated to a 80E. (I would do a intercooler regardless) Set money aside for a good fuel system and rear end upgrades.
