here are pics of my actual 4.8. as you can see the pistons look just as GM produced them back in 02. There is no sign of denotation, no signs of lean, no sign of any issues.
this is proof a stock motor can last with the right setup and a good tune. ive ran has high as 22 psi thru this motor, it has dyno'd as high as 16 psi, ive ran it down the track with as high as 13 psi, there is close to 7k worth of 16psi thru this motor, total mileage is close to 14k. I run 23* timing, no meth on 93. ive ran as much as 60% e85 thru this motor as well. i shift it at 7500 rpms and rev limter is 7700. Highest recording of power was 702 rwhp and 565 rwtq
combo was 241s on a stock 4.8 with 5.3HO/5.7 MLS stock head gaskets, TTY GM head bolts. nothing fancy
now I run a restrictor for a Tstat, EWP, 34" rad with 05 fans i ran water as coolant. never once pushed any water never once got over 190*
I posted this to show proof right setup things work. Reason for motor being apart i was going to replace the lifters with Caddy race ones so i can spin the motor higher.

WOW! im surprised that stock motor took that kind of abuse without spitting something out. your talkin over 800hp at the motor. im very impressed. anyone know if the new 4.8's have the same crank and rods as these motor.

Its funny how some of you can come in here and talk **** on Quik but the ones talking **** have done what again?
Ive rode in this truck and its full boost by 4800 rpms and stays pulling past 7500. His motor has made more power and lasted longer then alot of members built motors and setups build by so professionals
